Vice President/Assistant to the President Chicago Blackhawks 2010 & 2013 Stanley Cup Champion

Al MacIsaac, a native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia,  just completed his 13th season as a member of the Blackhawks Hockey Operations Department and his third as Vice President/Assistant to the President, previously serving as Senior Director of Hockey Administration/Assistant to the President. He was named to his current position on Sept. 7, 2010.

MacIsaac was the Buffalo Sabres’ 12th-round draft choice in 1987. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia for four years, where he tallied 112 career points (54G, 58A) in 91 career college games along with 404 penalty minutes. He was named St. Francis Xavier University Student Male Athlete of the Year in 1991.

After college, he joined the Hampton Roads Admirals as a defenseman for the 1991-92 season and led the team with a +33 plus/minus rating. He represented the Admirals in the 1993 ECHL All-Star Game. During that same season, MacIsaac made appearances with the American Hockey League’s Baltimore Skipjacks and Cape Breton Oilers.

In 1993, MacIsaac joined the Norfolk Admirals front office as Assistant General Manager. He was named General Manager of Hockey Operations for the Admirals in July 1996. In 1997-98, the Admirals, then the Blackhawks’ minor league affiliate, won their third ECHL championship.

MacIsaac has won seven titles in his career, including the Blackhawks 2013  Stanley Cup championship, and three as a player: the Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup (1986), the ECHL championship (1992) and the Calder Cup (1993).
MacIsaac and his wife, Dawn, have three daughters: Madisson, Delaney and Emersyn.
